Journalists covering the recent historic protest movement faced an unprecedented number of assaults and arrests, thwarting their ability to cover important events. And data shows that journalists of color were disproportionately affected. To combat these breaches of press freedom, rank-and-file journalists in Los Angeles banded together to champion law and policy changes, creating an advocacy model for journalists everywhere.
